Born and raised on the coast of Maine, Skip graduated from Kennebunk High School and has a bachelor of arts degree in education from the University of Maine Orono. Shortly after graduation he married his college sweetheart Diane and raised two children Jesse and Spring. After living in Conway for a few years, Skip and Diane moved to their present residence in Brownfield Maine.
A life long lover of music and sports, Skip was active in the music business as a drummer and singer from 1971 to 1982. His most well known band was MCA recording Artists" The Blend" which produced 2 albums in 1979 and 1980 and opened shows to many well known acts such as The Who, Loggins and Mesina, and ZZ Top. Every June Skip helps organize and appears at the "Tribute to JD" show (in memory of his longtime friend and Blend brother Jim Drown) which supports the Rusty Rocket Corp., a non-profit, supporting music and sports scholarships at Kennebunk High School and other needy regional music programs.
After retiring from the music business in 1982, Skip embarked on a career in Real Estate. Mentoring with Hal Wright (the company namesake) Skip quickly became a top-producing agent at Wright Realty and Hamel Real Estate during the 1980's. In 1992 Skip and Hal became partners in Wright Realty and Skip (after Hal's retirement) continued to own the company until 2007 when he sold to the present owners Antonella Bliss, Rose Robinson and Lindsey Maihos. Skip enjoys continuing to work with them at Coldwell Banker Wright Realty.
In his spare time Skip enjoys skiing and golfing at Lake Kezar Country Club in Lovell Maine. A life long Red Sox fan, Skip considers himself a member of Red Sox Nation and often attends games each year.
Skip has served as a director of the White Mountain Board of Realtors on two occasions, and has also served of the board of Carroll County against Domestic Violence and Rape.
Skip's true love however is to help people to solve their real estate needs by educating clients to the process of buying and selling properties. "If you help people learn the process and give them the pluses and minuses to consider, people will make good informed decisions for themselves!"
